Slotjes
Oosterhout, the NetherlandsAbout Slotjes
Slotjes Midden, built in the 1950s and 1960s, is undergoing improvement and becoming more attractive in the process. The restructuring project is being guided by the watchwords ‘sustainable’ and ‘climate-proof’. The new homes will be built for maximum energy efficiency, using sustainable materials and implementing climate-adaptive features. Where energy is concerned, the estate will be practically self-sufficient. Throughout, space is being created for high-quality green areas, with a link to the Wilhelminakanaal waterway. Housing corporation Thuisvester, construction and development company Ballast Nedam and BPD are demolishing 231 existing dwellings and building 341 new owner occupied, public-sector and midprice rental homes in their place, some of which are being made possible by BPD Woningfonds. Construction will take place between 2020 and 2023.
