Our ESG strategy

BPD has the ambition to contribute to the challenges of our time. These are physical challenges in the areas of energy, nature and landscape. But also social challenges such as affordable housing for everyone and the creation of inclusive living environments. The very first international BPD ESG strategy sets out the focus areas in which we want to make a measurable impact in the coming years. They are in the areas of sustainability (Environmental), social impact (Social) and good corporate governance and transparency (Governance).

We have been providing an affordable home for everyone for more than 75 years. That is and will remain our social responsibility. More than ever, we link this ambition to the major challenges of today. The very first BPD ESG strategy sets out how we do this. Impact areas and goals are divided at three levels: area level, building level and organisational level.

One strategy for the Netherlands and Germany

BPD's ESG strategy applies to all our activities in the Netherlands and Germany, except for BPD Woningfonds, which makes transparent in a separate way how it meets the ambitious standards that apply in the real estate and investment world. The ESG strategy is regularly evaluated and adjusted if necessary. This way we ensure that we are in line with the latest relevant developments, trends, and best practices.
